Van Learning Center's Story: A Timeline

It all started in 1998, 2020, 2022 and in 2023 simultaneously!

1998: DD Hutson started working at the local preschool in Van, TX and fell in love with childcare and early childhood education. 

​

2020: DD has now been director of the center she first started teaching in for 10 years. She was ready to retire and hired her daughter's close friend, Cody Patterson to help facilitate this. 

​​

Early 2022: Cody, while at his 3 year-old niece's birthday party, had the idea of starting a preschool. Whilst telling his friend and now business-partner, Kimberly Goode this, a seed was planted. 

​​

Mid 2022: DD, Cody, and Kimberly team up and start two businesses; A preschool and a preschool consulting business. They start working towards a preschool in Flint, TX.

January 2023: DD, Cody and Kimberly lose the preschool they were working on for 6 months. They were three weeks from opening. All were devastated. 

​

February 2023: Connections Church came to their rescue and allowed them to lease the space where DD, Kimberly, and Cody all first fell in love with childcare and early childhood education.

​

June 19th 2023: Van Learning Center opens its doors to the public and has its first full day of classes!
